Make sure a phone isn't reported stolen before you buy.
Dial *#06# on the phone to show its IMEI.
Anonymized check: we compare a fingerprint of the IMEI against our reports database, never the number in clear text.
Scope: we check against Damji's internal reports database (declared thefts and duplicates on the platform). Operator/GSMA lists are not queried yet, so an IMEI that looks clean here could still be stolen elsewhere. Also check *#06# on the device and ask for verified handoff.
IMEI helps filter risk, but it does not replace inspecting the phone.
