What to check before you pay
Five minutes that save you a headache:
Find My Mac turned off, in front of you (System Settings › your name › iCloud). It takes their Apple Account password to do it.
Apple menu › About This Mac: the chip (or processor), memory and storage must match the listing.
Battery: hold Option and click the Apple menu › System Information › Power, “Cycle Count” line. Apple rates this Mac’s battery for 1 000 cycles: beyond that, it’s due for replacement.
Screen, keyboard and ports: a white, then black, full-screen image, every key, and every port with the charger.
