Used cameras in Morocco — prices and what to check
To buy cameras second-hand: pick the brand, compare asking prices for the same model, then run the checks that matter for this category.
How much do used cameras cost in Morocco?
Price comes from the model and its condition, not from the category — but in this one, three things move it more than the rest. The shutter count is the body's mileage, and it does not reset. The lens is often worth more than the body: inspect it first. Original batteries are expensive and tire: count them into the price. Pick the brand, then the model: every model page shows the median asking price computed from active listings.
What should I check on used cameras before paying?
Shutter count: it is the odometer of the body. Lens against the light: dust, fungus, play in the zoom ring. Sensor photographed against white at a small aperture, to reveal spots.
How many shutter actuations is too many?
It depends on the body, not on a general number: each manufacturer publishes a shutter rating for each model. Look it up for the exact model and compare it with the counter, which is read in the camera's information or with a free tool from a photo. A body at mid-life is not a bad buy at the right price.
Body only or with a lens?
If you are starting out, the kit costs less than the two bought separately. If you already own compatible lenses, the bare body avoids paying for optics you will not use. Either way, inspect the lens against the light: dust, fungus marks and play in the ring show up there and nowhere else.
Used or new cameras?
Compare the in-store price with the used median here. Used makes sense when the gap is wide and the device has been checked; when the gap is small, new with a warranty usually wins.
