Five minutes that save you a headache:

1. Dial *#06#. The IMEI must match the one in Settings and on the box.
2. Google account signed out, in front of you. Otherwise the phone stays locked when you reset it. Don’t buy a locked phone, not even at a discount.
3. A grey image in full screen. If you see stains or the shadow of icons, the screen has burn-in.
4. Battery: charge it for a while. If it heats up or drains fast, plan on replacing the battery.
5. A call, Wi-Fi, the cameras and charging.
