iPhone 8
The essentials
- Not for years: it’s 9 years old and can’t install iOS 27.
- Before you pay: the seller signs out of iCloud in front of you.
What to check before you pay
Five minutes that save you a headache:
- Dial *#06#. The IMEI must match the one in Settings › General › About and on the box.
- iCloud signed out and Find My iPhone off, in front of you. Otherwise the iPhone stays locked. Don’t buy a locked phone, not even at a discount.
- Battery: Settings › Battery › Battery Health. If it heats up or drains fast, plan on replacing it.
- A call, Wi-Fi, the cameras and charging.
