What to check before you pay
Five minutes that save you a headache:
- Dial *#06#. The IMEI must match the one in Settings › General › About and on the box.
- Genuine parts: on that same screen, if the battery, display or a camera shows “Unknown”, that part isn’t a genuine Apple part.
- iCloud signed out and Find My iPhone off, in front of you. Otherwise the iPhone stays locked. Don’t buy a locked phone, not even at a discount.
- A grey image in full screen. If you see stains or the shadow of icons, the screen has burn-in.
- Battery: Settings › Battery › Battery Health. If it heats up or drains fast, plan on replacing it.
- A call, Wi-Fi, the cameras and charging.

How we measure it
On 25 September 2026 we read 490 listings for the iPhone 14 Pro Max on marketplaces in Morocco and removed the ones that didn’t count: no photo, no price, a different model, broken, or a bait price.
99 listings were left; the price comes from the 75 in good condition: the middle band, without the cheapest 25% or the most expensive 25%.
The condition is what the seller declares and the price is the asking price: in the end, it gets negotiated.
